IMC Marlborough combines the experience of Insurance Market Conferences Ltd and Marlborough Training and Consultancy Ltd.

Our History

Insurance Market Conferences (IMC) was founded in 1994 by Tony Gregory with the purpose of arranging Professional Indemnity and Liability conferences. It became a Limited Company in 2000 and expanded its services by providing a wide variety of technical, managerial and personal skills training courses and services for the London and Lloyd’s insurance market.

In January 2006 we moved into our own training rooms in St Clare Street just off Minories in London to continue to provide a professional training environment for all our open courses and breakfast seminars.

Marlborough was formed in 2003 by Mark Redfern and has rapidly become a leading provider of management skills courses, with over 1,000 courses a year.

The two companies created IMC Marlborough on 1 st March 2008.

Our Aims and Objectives are:

  • To be the leading provider of training in technical insurance and reinsurance business to the London Market.
  • To use only the best industry speakers
  • To make our training stimulating, participative and relevant
  • To help organisations meet the FSA’s requirements on training and competency
  • To respond to the changing Worldwide regulatory environment

The Personnel

Tony Gregory
Tony Gregory B.A. Hons, F.C.I.I. is the founder and Managing Director of IMC. He had many years experience in the London Market underwriting Liability and Professional Indemnity business, before moving into training. He is the leader on two specialist study groups for the Insurance Institute of London.

Nigel Piper
Nigel Piper MSc. is an Associate Director of IMC Marlborough. He has vast experience in the field of employee benefits having held senior positions at PPP, Sun Alliance and Marsh, before setting up his own consultancy, Grosvenor Benefit Consultants. He is now responsible for course development and marketing at IMC Marlborough.

Mark Redfern
Mark Redfern ACII was a founder director of Searchlight Solutions in 1999 before he left in 2004 to develop Marlborough Training which now delivers over 1000 training events each year. He started his career with US insurer Allstate in Manchester. He became Personal Lines Operations Manager for Independent Insurance and subsequently held several senior management appointments with other insurers before moving into training.
